Common questions
My signer didn't get the email. What now?
First, ask them to check their spam or junk folder — signing invitations sometimes land there on a first send. If it is not there, open your dashboard, find the document, and hit Resend. You can also copy the signing link from the dashboard and send it to them directly by text or any messaging app.
I typed the recipient's email wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes — you do not need to start over. On your dashboard, find the document awaiting signature and choose Fix email. Enter the correct address and we will send a fresh signing link there. The old link stops working immediately, and the change is recorded in the audit trail.
I declined a document by mistake. What do I do?
Ask the sender to send it again. When they resend, the decline is cleared and you will get a fresh signing link. The sender is notified of every decline, so they already know.
How do I download my signed copy?
If you are the sender, open the document on your dashboard and download the signed PDF. If you are the signer, just reopen your signing link — even after signing, it offers Download your signed copy. A copy is also emailed to both sides when signing completes.
My signing link expired. Now what?
Signing links expire for security — free links after 14 days. Ask the sender to resend the document and you will get a fresh link. Senders get an email when a link is about to expire, so they usually notice first.
How do I cancel (void) a document?
On your dashboard, open the document and choose Void. Voiding is immediate and permanent — the signing link dies on the spot and the void is recorded in the audit trail. Only do this if you are sure.
How do I delete a document?
From your dashboard you can move a document to trash, and delete it permanently from there. If you want your account and all its data erased entirely, email support@getdonedocs.com.
Is an electronic signature legally binding?
In many places, yes. Electronic signatures are recognized under laws like the ESIGN Act and UETA in the United States and eIDAS in the European Union, provided the signature shows who signed and that they intended to sign, and the document has not been altered since. DoneDocs captures exactly that evidence — signer identity, timestamp, IP address, and a tamper-evident audit trail.
That said, whether a specific document holds up in a specific dispute depends on facts we cannot see. We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice — for anything high-stakes, talk to a lawyer.
What does the free plan include?
3 documents per month, free, with the full signing flow, audit trail, and certificate of completion. Pro is a flat $10/month with a much higher send allowance, clean PDFs without DoneDocs branding, and longer-lived links.
